High-pressure mercury lamps are beasts. They work by exciting mercury vapor to pump out intense UV-C radiation. We don’t do “one size fits all” here. Heat is the Enemy
Here is the thing about power density. If you want a high wattage in a short tube, you get a lot of punch in a small space. That’s awesome if you’re running a fast conveyor belt and need things cured in a blink. But there’s a catch. That puts a massive amount of stress on the quartz glass. If you’re pushing for extreme output, you can’t just wing it with the housing—you need active cooling. If the air isn’t moving, the heat builds up, the lamp life plummets, and you’ll start seeing those ugly black ends on the glass. Not a great look for your customers.
The Glass and the Plugs
We use high-purity fused quartz because it lets the UV light through without fighting it. Depending on what you’re actually doing with the lamp, we can add coatings to shift the wavelength or just give the glass some extra protection. Then there are the connectors. Some of you need a drop-in replacement for a machine that’s already out there. Others want something proprietary that nobody else can copy. Either way, we wire them to handle those high starting voltages needed to get the arc jumping.
Making it Your Own
Our OEM setup is pretty straightforward. You tell us the voltage, the length, and the wattage. You give us the constraints; we handle the gas fill and the sealing. The best part? You can offer a product that slides right into your customer’s existing ballast. No one likes to rewire their entire system just to upgrade a bulb. We provide the hardware, you build the brand.
